Pricing Shakeup: Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-orders Start April 24 – Find out the latest accessories and game prices!

Los Angeles, California – Nintendo has announced that its highly anticipated Switch 2 console will be available for pre-orders in the US starting on April 24, 2025. The retail pricing for the console will remain the same as previously announced, with the standard package priced at $450 and the bundle, which includes Mario Kart World, priced at $500.

While the pricing for the console itself has not changed, Nintendo has adjusted the pricing for most of its accessories that were originally revealed alongside the console. The company has increased the price for most accessories by $1 to $10, with the majority receiving a $5 increase. In addition, a new accessory, a 256GB Samsung microSD Express Card for the Switch 2, has been introduced with a price tag of $60.

Interestingly, the prices for the games, such as Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza, have not seen an increase. These games will still retail at $80 and $70, respectively. However, some consumers have expressed concerns about the initial pricing of these games.

The price adjustments made by Nintendo in the US market are attributed to what the company refers to as “changes in market conditions.” It is believed by many that these changes are likely due to US tariffs. Nintendo has also hinted that other products in their lineup may see price changes in the future if market conditions continue to fluctuate.

The highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 is set to be released on June 5, 2025, following the pre-order period. Fans of the popular gaming console can expect to get their hands on the latest edition soon, with a variety of new accessories and games to enhance their gaming experience.
