Denver, Colorado – Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has high hopes for quarterback Shedeur Sanders as the NFL draft approaches in 17 days. While speculation surrounds Shedeur’s potential landing spot, sportsbooks are already taking bets on where he might end up.
With the New Orleans Saints listed as the favorites on both DraftKings and FanDuel, the excitement is building. DraftKings has the Saints at +300, closely followed by the Giants at +350 and the Browns at +425 in the odds race. The Steelers are not far behind at 7-1, with the Jets, Raiders, and Rams trailing at 10-1.
Many doubt that the Giants would select Sanders at No. 3, but the possibility of a trade down to acquire him later remains. The Raiders, currently at No. 6, are also in the quarterback conversation despite their existing contract with Geno Smith. As for the Jets and their 7th pick, the potential for Shedeur to serve as a “bridge” quarterback is a realistic scenario.
If Shedeur falls past the Saints at No. 9, the anticipation of a potential trade up becomes palpable. The eighth pick held by the Panthers could become a hotspot for such a move, reminiscent of the Chiefs securing Patrick Mahomes ahead of the Saints in past drafts. This year, teams may look to trade up with the Panthers to secure Shedeur before the Saints have the chance.
The Steelers, holding the No. 20 pick, stand as a potential bottom line if Shedeur continues to slide in the draft. Regardless of Aaron Rodgers’ future with the team, a long-term quarterback solution remains a priority. With Kenny Pickett not meeting expectations, Shedeur could be the answer they are looking for.
