(AbsoluteNews.com) – GOP Conference Chairwoman Rep. Liz Cheney (WY) was one the most outspoken critics of former President Donald Trump during the last couple of weeks of his tenure. She was one of the 10 members of the Republican caucus who voted to impeach him on January 13. Now, members of her party want her out of her leadership role.
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is headed to Cheyenne, Wyoming on January 28 to hold a rally at the state capital because he said he believes the voters “deserve better” than what Cheney is giving them.
I do not want her job. I unequivocally am not seeking a position in House Leadership.
I also know Wyoming can do better. https://t.co/6tQc3ZT54X

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has also said he has “concerns” about Cheney’s vote to impeach Trump. Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) is trying to gather support among members of his party to remove the congresswoman from her leadership position.
It’s clear that Cheney’s role as a leader of the GOP is in grave danger. She went against one of the most popular Republican presidents in history, and her colleagues aren’t likely to forget that soon.
