(AbsoluteNews.com) – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) is one of the most popular conservatives in the country. He appeals to a broad range of Republican voters, much like former President Donald Trump did. He’s up for reelection next year and the polls are looking promising for him.
According to a new VCreek/AMG for Americas PAC poll, DeSantis is leading Democratic Rep. Charlie Crist in a head-to-head matchup. About 47% of respondents said they’d vote for the governor again while only 39% chose Crist, with 12% undecided.
Crist served one term as Florida governor from 2007 to 2011. He was a Republican at the time, but later switched his affiliation to Independent to run for Senate. He lost that race and then switched his affiliation again to Democratic.

The former governor isn’t the only Democrat hoping to run against DeSantis. Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried is polling a dismal 36% to the GOP governor’s 48% in a fictional head-to-head match. Of those polled, 11% were undecided.
The survey shows that DeSantis is still a strong candidate moving into the 2022 midterm election, despite the Democratic Party’s attempt to smear him over his handling of COVID-19. The governor ignored the criticism and did what needed to be done for his state. It looks like that’s paying off.
