His daughter, Kirsten Casale Ely, confirmed the sad news in a heartfelt Instagram post, describing her father as a multifaceted individual who left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Ely, known for his physically demanding role as Tarzan, which included performing his own stunts, showcased his acting prowess across various popular TV shows before landing the iconic title role. His versatility shone through as he transitioned from his time as the Lord of the Jungle to playing other characters like Doc Savage in a 1975 film.

Subsequently, Ely and his family pursued legal action, contending that the police’s response was unwarranted. It wasn’t until 2022 that a jury ruled in favor of the police, determining that they had acted in self-defense.
