Scream 7 Confirmed: Mason Gooding Returns Alongside Neve Campbell and Kevin Williamson!

Los Angeles, California – Mason Gooding is set to return to the iconic horror franchise “Scream” for its seventh installment. Gooding will reprise his role as Chad Meeks-Martin, while Jasmin Savoy Brown, who plays Chad’s sister Mindy, has not yet officially signed on for the film.

The news of Gooding’s return comes after the production of the movie faced delays, changes in direction, and casting adjustments. In an interview earlier this year, Gooding acknowledged the challenges faced during the making of the film and emphasized the importance of delivering a movie that resonates with the fans of the franchise.

Neve Campbell, who skipped the sixth film due to a salary dispute, will be making a comeback for “Scream 7.” Additionally, Kevin Williamson, who wrote the script for the first “Scream” film in 1996, will be directing a “Scream” movie for the first time with this installment.

Courteney Cox is also expected to return as Gale Weathers in “Scream 7,” although she has not yet officially signed on for the role. New cast members for the film include Isabel May, McKenna Grace, Sam Rechner, and Asa Germann.

The upcoming horror film “Heart Eyes,” in which Gooding stars alongside Olivia Holt, is set to be released on February 7th. Gooding can currently be seen in the comedy film “Y2K,” directed by Kyle Mooney.

Several actors from the previous “Scream” reboot films, including Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, will not be returning for the seventh installment. Barrera was let go from the project last year due to social media posts about Israel, while Ortega had scheduling conflicts with her work on Netflix’s “Wednesday.”

“Scream 7” is scheduled to hit theaters on February 27, 2026, with Paramount Pictures distributing the film produced by Spyglass Media. The franchise, which has been a staple in the horror genre, has seen considerable success at the box office over the years, with the most recent installment, “Scream VI,” breaking records for domestic box office earnings.
