WAUKESHA, WI – Seven men from Chicago face charges for their alleged involvement in a bold luxury car theft nearly a year ago in Waukesha. An eighth individual was apprehended at the time and has since been convicted. The incident, captured on surveillance footage, revealed the audacity and coordination of the group as they targeted a Land Rover dealership.
The heist, which took place last February, involved nine individuals who managed to steal six Land Rovers, a Porsche, a Jaguar, and a BMW. Despite the swift response from law enforcement, the thieves evaded capture at the scene. However, their getaway was short-lived. A stop for fuel in West Allis triggered a high-speed chase along I-94, culminating in the arrest of 17-year-old Calvin Valentine after his vehicle crashed. Valentine is currently serving a two-year prison sentence for burglary and unauthorized vehicle operation.
Waukesha prosecutors have now filed felony charges against seven of the suspects involved in the theft. Investigators were able to identify the individuals through a group call they participated in during the crime. While four suspects remain at large, three are currently detained in Milwaukee County.
Among those in custody are Jermaine Walton, 18, Corinthus Neal, 19, and Lamont Stanton, 20. These individuals were convicted for their roles in a fatal carjacking at a Milwaukee Taco Bell in May 2024, just three months following the Waukesha theft. The carjacking attempt tragically ended in the death of a man at the intersection of 56th and North.
Waukesha Mayor Shawn Reilly expressed little surprise at the return of these individuals to Southeastern Wisconsin after the initial theft. He emphasized the high likelihood of arrest and conviction for those who attempt similar crimes in the area, underscoring the commitment of local law enforcement to maintaining community safety.
The three men convicted in the Milwaukee carjacking are awaiting sentencing, with a trial pending for their alleged involvement in the Waukesha case. As the legal process unfolds, residents and officials alike remain vigilant, determined to prevent future incidents of this nature.
