WAILUKU, Hawaii (AP) – The Mayor of Maui has called for the Maui police chief to be placed on administrative leave following his involvement in a new lawsuit filed against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs for sexual assault. The lawsuit, which was filed on Friday, includes over a dozen defendants, among them Maui Police Chief John Pelletier. The complaint alleges an assault on Ashley Parham and two other victims, adding to the series of lawsuits filed against Combs since November 2023, accusing him of various offenses including sexual assault, harassment, and sex trafficking.
In a letter addressed to the police department, Maui Mayor Richard Bissen expressed concerns about the serious nature of the allegations in the amended complaint filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. In response, MPD spokesperson Alana Pico reiterated that Chief Pelletier has no connections to the individuals named in the lawsuit and dismissed the allegations against him as unfounded. Pico highlighted Chief Pelletier’s past recognition by the Rape Crisis Center in Las Vegas for his exceptional leadership in community safety and commitment to sexual assault prevention. The spokesperson condemned the baseless allegations, emphasizing the importance of supporting victims of abuse with compassion and integrity.
