Significant Audacy Layoffs Today: Over 300 Employees Let Go in Cost Saving Restructuring Effort Focusing on Key Markets

Atlanta, Georgia – Audacy is making significant cuts today, with around 250-300 employees expected to be laid off nationwide as the company implements cost-saving measures. The majority, if not all, of the national digital content team at Audacy has been let go as part of these cuts. In a statement, an Audacy spokesperson mentioned that these workforce reductions are intended to ensure a strong and resilient future for the business in the rapidly evolving media landscape.

In Atlanta, Jerry McKenna is stepping down as the Program Director of Rhythmic AC “Star 94” WSTR. McKenna, who joined WSTR in September 2019, has an extensive background in programming, with previous roles at various radio stations and record companies. Additionally, Kannon, the APD/afternoon host at WSTR, is also exiting the station along with midday host and National Sales Coordinator Skye Smith.

In Austin, Heather Rivera is leaving her position as the midday host at Hot AC “Mix 94.7” KAMX after 18 years with the station. In a heartfelt message, Rivera expressed gratitude for her time at the station and uncertainty about her next steps.

Glenn Anderson, who has been with the cluster for 28 years, is departing from his role as the afternoon host at AC “Star 102.1” WDOK in Cleveland. Reflecting on his time in radio, Anderson thanked his listeners and emphasized the importance of supporting live and local radio.

Emily Jimenez is exiting her position as the Digital Managing Editor for News 1080 KRLD in Dallas after seven years with the company. In Los Angeles, Alex Silverman will be resigning as the Director of News & Programming and Brand Manager of News 1070 KNX/97.1 KNX-FM in the coming weeks.
