Los Angeles, Calif. — Warner Bros. Pictures is bringing back the critically acclaimed film “Sinners” to IMAX theaters for a special engagement. The film, directed by Ryan Coogler, originally premiered on April 18, during Easter weekend, and has since garnered a robust $48 million at the box office, showcasing its popularity among audiences.
From May 15 to May 21, “Sinners” will return to nine select IMAX locations throughout North America, allowing fans to experience the film on the large screen once again. While it remains in theaters, its IMAX screenings will be limited to venues such as the City Walk Stadium 19 in Los Angeles, Lincoln Square 13 in New York, and the Metreon 16 in San Francisco, among others.
Jeff Goldstein, President of Global Distribution at Warner Bros., emphasized the importance of the IMAX format for experiencing this unique narrative. “Audiences have spoken, and we listened. This film truly deserves to be viewed in its incredible larger-than-life format,” Goldstein said. He added that Coogler has crafted a film that resonates deeply with viewers, highlighting its intricate production quality.
“Sinners” features Michael B. Jordan in the lead role, portraying twin brothers who return to Mississippi after serving in World War I, only to confront an unforeseen darkness awaiting them. The film also stars Hailee Steinfeld, Miles Caton, and Delroy Lindo, attracting attention for its diverse cast and compelling storyline.
Coogler’s work has received accolades from renowned directors, including Spike Lee, who praised the film as a pivotal contribution to contemporary cinema.
