Six men charged with trafficking teen girls they met on Snapchat

ROSWELL, GA – Two young sisters are now safe after being rescued from a harrowing ordeal involving a sex trafficking ring in Roswell. Law enforcement officials have detained six men, all facing a multitude of charges, thanks to the vigilance of a concerned community member.

The situation unfolded when a 911 call alerted authorities to suspicious activity at a local apartment complex. The caller reported seeing a young girl knocking on car windows, pleading for a ride. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the girls were runaways from Paulding County. They had encountered numerous adults, but only one person took action to help them.

The investigation revealed that the girls had initially connected with several men through Snapchat. One of these men took them to Douglasville before abandoning them in a parking lot. It was then that 24-year-old David Rivera contacted them via Snapchat and arranged for an Uber to transport them to the Economy Hotel in Roswell. At the hotel, the sisters were allegedly given drugs and alcohol and coerced into engaging in sexual activities with multiple individuals over several days.

Roswell police have since arrested six men in connection with the case, who collectively face 51 charges. Officials are urging parents to monitor their children’s online activities closely and remain vigilant for any unusual behavior. They emphasized that human trafficking often involves someone exploiting a vulnerable person’s trust rather than the stereotypical image of abductions by strangers.

Roswell Mayor Kurt Wilson highlighted this case as part of the city’s ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking. Over the past two and a half years, the city has shut down 23 illicit spas involved in prostitution and human trafficking.

When approached for comment, an employee at the Economy Hotel claimed to be unaware of the incident but acknowledged having seen some of the implicated men on the premises. The Roswell Police Department continues to investigate the case, seeking justice for the young victims and aiming to dismantle the networks that facilitate such crimes.
