Dallas, Texas – At least 10 individuals were injured during a stampede at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center due to a fight that broke out between two people. The incident occurred during a national cheerleading competition, prompting a large response from Dallas police.
Witnesses reported hearing loud noises and seeing people rushing outside in a panic after the fight ensued, causing multiple injuries as poles were knocked down. Although initial reports suggested an active shooter situation, law enforcement confirmed that there was no shooter present at the convention center.
Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesperson, Jason Evans, stated that 10 individuals were taken to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries ranging from bruises and scrapes to extremity fractures. The police did not disclose whether any arrests were made in connection with the altercation.
