Stray Bullet Kills Innocent Teen Playing in Own Home

(AbsoluteNews.com) – When people are sitting in their own homes enjoying the day, they expect some level of safety from the outside world. Unfortunately, that’s not always the case. On the evening of November 20, in Pasadena, California, an unknown suspect’s stray bullet penetrated the walls of a 13-year-old’s home and struck him in the torso. Although paramedics tried their best to save the boy, the hospital pronounced him dead shortly after arrival.

Local police are examining video in the area in hopes of identifying the culprit. Pasadena Police Chief John Perez said they have “hours of video” to watch for clues. So far, they’ve made no arrests.

A nearby neighbor said the community is getting so bad with violence and shootings, she’s even afraid to take her dog outside for fear of getting shot.

Recent events show this isn’t an isolated incident in California. In early November, a stray bullet struck and killed a 2-year-old on the highway as he slept in his car seat, and a 3-year-old in the back seat suffered a gunshot wound in October while riding with his father on an Oakland interstate.

Officials suspect an uptick in gang feuds are to blame for the shootings.
