Suspected Terrorist Stopped By Border Patrol

( – One of the reasons Republicans are so worried about the ongoing border crisis is the possibility terrorists could enter the country undetected. Twenty years after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, there’s still a concern it could happen again. Recently, those concerns were ratcheted up after an arrest by Border Patrol.

On December 16, US Border Patrol apprehended a 21-year-old Saudi Arabian man. He was wearing a jacket for the Volunteer Ambulance Corps in Oneida County, NY. When Yuma sector agents looked into the man, who remains unnamed, they discovered he had ties to several suspected Yemeni terrorists. The agency notified Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations and the FBI about the arrest. Those agencies will decide what will happen with the suspect moving forward.

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have both failed to respond to the crisis and to secure the border despite the fact it’s a real national security threat. In August, former Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott revealed the agents are apprehending people whose names are listed in the Terrorist Screening Database “at a level [Border Patrol has] never seen before.”

It’s fortunate the Border Patrol was able to catch the suspected terrorist this time, but what about next time? Will one be able to slip in unnoticed and harm Americans?
