Boston, MA – Boston Celtics All-Star Jayson Tatum reassured fans that his right wrist is fine after a hard fall during the team’s playoff-opening victory against the Orlando Magic on Sunday at TD Garden.
Tatum sustained the injury in the fourth quarter when he landed awkwardly on his right wrist after a collision with two Magic defenders. Despite the fall, he managed to finish the game with 17 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.
Following the game, Tatum downplayed the injury, stating that he felt some initial pain but it subsided quickly. Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla also expressed confidence in Tatum’s condition moving forward.
The Celtics showcased their depth in the win, with strong performances from Derrick White, Payton Pritchard, and Jaylen Brown. White led the team with 30 points, while Pritchard contributed 19 points off the bench. Brown, who returned to the lineup after missing the final three games of the regular season, added 16 points and displayed a strong performance.
Despite Tatum’s off-shooting night, the Celtics managed to secure a comfortable victory after a solid second-half performance. The team will look to carry this momentum into Game 2 against the Magic on Wednesday in Boston.
