Taxes Tide Trouble: Teresa Giudice’s Husband Reels in Loan and Extension Amid $3 Million Tax Lien – What’s Next?

NEWARK, NEW JERSEY – Luis Ruelas, the husband of reality TV star Teresa Giudice, has reportedly been granted an extension on a $1 million loan amid ongoing tax troubles.

Ruelas, a businessman, borrowed the $1 million in March 2024 and has requested more time to handle his financial obligations. Court documents revealed that the final payment for the loan has been extended to March 25 of the following year. Additionally, Ruelas also received an additional $250,000 loan, with both payments now due in March 2026.

The extension on the loan comes as it was confirmed that Ruelas and Giudice have been hit with a substantial $3 million tax lien. Giudice owes $303,889.20 in taxes, while Ruelas owes nearly $2.6 million, in addition to a $163,523.94 tax lien from last year.

This is not the first time Giudice has faced tax troubles, as she previously spent time in prison in 2015 for mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud. After her release, she divorced her then-husband Joe Giudice, and later married Ruelas in August 2022.

Despite the financial struggles and legal issues, Ruelas and Giudice have yet to comment on the latest developments. Their relationship has drawn criticism from Bethenny Frankel, a former reality TV star, who questioned their financial stability and decision to continue appearing on television.

Frankel’s comments reflect concerns about the couple’s financial history, with Giudice having faced tax liens in the past. The situation highlights the challenges faced by reality TV stars in managing their personal finances and legal obligations, as they navigate both fame and financial troubles.

As the saga continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how Ruelas and Giudice will address their tax issues and loan repayments while balancing their public personas as reality TV personalities. The scrutiny surrounding their financial troubles serves as a cautionary tale for others in the entertainment industry grappling with similar challenges.
