(AbsoluteNews.com) – Twitter is having a rough week. First, its actions led to an executive order from President Donald Trump that will limit their immunity if they censor Americans. Now, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) is calling for a criminal investigation into the company.
On May 29, Cruz sent a letter to the Treasury and Justice departments. He said Twitter is violating US sanctions against Iran and called for an investigation. In his letter, the senator said he told Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey the company and “…its principals face criminal liability” for providing specific services to Iranians who have been “…designated as Specially Designated Nationals” by the Treasury.
Twitter never removed the users from its platform and now Cruz is going after them.
U.S. companies don’t get to ignore American law.

It seems as though Twitter needs to stop worrying about fact-checking and censoring President Trump and needs to get its house in order. Violating US sanctions is a pretty big deal and Senator Cruz is right to call for an investigation. Nobody is above the law.
