Ted Cruz Targeted With Nasty Billboard Campaign

(AbsoluteNews.com) – On January 6, a joint session of Congress took place to certify the Electoral College votes. During the meeting, representatives and senators were allowed to object to votes they believed were invalid. Each objection had to have the support of at least one person from each chamber. It was a normal process that has happened many times before.

This time, however, Democrats were furious about the objections. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) was one of two lawmakers from his chamber that objected to votes. He also spoke at a pro-democracy rally before the incident at the Capitol building. Months later, he is still being targeted as a result of his actions that day.

Billboard in Houston

In February, a Super PAC called “Really American” started raising money to put up billboards attacking Cruz. The group accused the senator of “riling up the domestic terrorists” involved in the Capitol Hill incident. Never mind that we still don’t know who organized that event, and Cruz did nothing more than speak at a peaceful rally.

Really American raised the money it needed, and on March 3, it unveiled one of its billboards on the side of the street in the senator’s Houston neighborhood. The billboard had a photo of the senator and the word “TRAITOR” emblazoned on it.

The organization asked people for more money, saying they wanted to put the billboards up so Cruz could see them while he’s on his way to church.

Harassed for Doing His Job

When Republicans accuse the Left of behaving poorly, this is the kind of behavior they point to as an example. Senator Cruz didn’t do anything wrong on January 6. The Constitution allows lawmakers to object to votes. He was carrying out his constitutional duties, and because of that, he is being labeled a “traitor” and harassed. It’s outrageous, and he deserves better.
