Texas teen killed, father injured after suspected drunk driver crashes into home, police say – Fox News

An incoming high school senior died and her father was seriously injured after a pickup truck crashed into their house in White Settlement on Sunday afternoon, police said.

The truck driven by an intoxicated driver crashed into their home. The truck also had an extension on it and a bed behind it that was partially hanging out of the house.

Donald Gruber, 63, was arrested for intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault after he recklessly crashed his car. A female passenger of the vehicle was also charged, and she is cooperating with the investigation. The passenger admitted to the police that the pair had been drinking alcohol prior to the deadly incident.

Three people were inside the home, including the 18 year old female teenager who passed away. Her father is in critical condition at a local hospital, and the mother of the teen did not sustain any serious injuries.

Some neighbors heard a big bang and tried to help the family. A witness saw a piece of wall missing from the house and went inside to help the victims.

The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office is assisting with the investigation of this drunk driving case.
