Los Angeles, California – Naughty Dog has revealed a new bundle for fans of The Last of Us series, offering the latest editions of both award-winning games for the PlayStation 5. The bundle, named The Last of Us Complete, is now available for digital purchase at $100, with a physical collector’s edition available for pre-order at $110, set to release on July 10. The original game, released in 2013, was remastered for the PS4 just a year after its initial launch, and subsequently received a complete remake as The Last of Us Part I for the PS5 in 2022.
Naughty Dog wasted no time in remastering the sequel, The Last of Us Part II, which was released early last year. Fans were offered a $10 upgrade for new content and enhanced graphics. However, some were disappointed by the $70 price tag for The Last of Us Part I remake. The announcement of The Last of Us Complete bundle coincides with the premiere of the TV adaptation’s second season on April 13, which has already been renewed for a third season, hinting at possible closure for the game series.
The release of the new bundle and the confirmation of the TV series’ future align to suggest that fans may not see a third installment of the game in the near future. Creator Neil Druckman’s recent interview further alludes to the idea that The Last of Us Complete may mark the end of the series for now. This bundle may serve as the ultimate way for fans to experience the entirety of the game series until the possible release of a PlayStation 6 in the future.
