The cause of Arnold’s passing has not yet been disclosed, with reports indicating that despite resuscitation attempts from paramedics, he was unable to be revived. Arnold, a beloved member of the Edmonton theatre community, was known for his charisma and talent on stage, gracing numerous productions with his presence.
In a statement shared on Instagram, the Citadel Theatre expressed deep sorrow over Arnold’s sudden passing, acknowledging his significant contributions to the local theater scene. Known for his roles in A Christmas Carol, The Wizard of Oz, and other productions, Arnold’s artistic legacy will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Born and raised in Edmonton, Arnold pursued his passion for acting by obtaining a bachelor of fine arts from the University of Alberta in 1989. He later completed a master’s degree in directing from the same institution in 2006, showcasing his dedication to the craft throughout his career.
As a founding member of the Free Will Players theatre company, Arnold also played a pivotal role in producing the Freewill Shakespeare Festival each summer in Edmonton. His impact on the local arts community was profound, leaving a lasting legacy that will be remembered for years to come.
In honor of Arnold’s memory, the remaining performances of A Christmas Carol at the Citadel Theatre will be dedicated to the late actor.
