(AbsoluteNews.com) – Former Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has long been one of former President Donald Trump’s most staunch supporters. Even after she left her position in his administration, she continued to support him. He’s now returning the favor.
On Monday, January 25, Sanders announced she was running for governor of Arkansas in 2022, a position her father Mike Huckabee once held. Trump promptly endorsed his former press secretary’s candidacy.
The 45th president called Sanders a “warrior” who’s going to fight for her state, and not worry about what’s “politically correct.” Shortly after the announcement that Trump was supporting her, she thanked her former boss:
Thank you President Trump for your endorsement and for always believing in me. As governor I will defend our freedom and lead with heart pic.twitter.com/QFtyuNpSm1

Sanders was President Trump’s longest-serving press secretary, serving in the administration from July 26, 2017, through July 1, 2019. She was well-known for her no-nonsense approach to daily briefings. If she brings that same energy to Arkansas, there’s no doubt she’ll make a great leader.
