Two arrested for armed carjackings

HOMESTEAD, FL – A man and a woman have been apprehended following an alleged armed carjacking near a local motel over the weekend, according to Homestead police. Authorities reported that the incident unfolded as two unsuspecting victims were about to enter the Park Motel on Grove Avenue.

The situation took a dangerous turn when Camilla Cordy, 36, reportedly slipped into the driver’s seat, seizing the car keys in the process. The victims were then confronted by several men, one of whom brandished a firearm, escalating the tension and leading to a violent confrontation.

Among the group of assailants, Joaquin Bryant, 31, is accused of physically attacking one of the victims during the altercation. The suspects, Cordy and Bryant, were located a short distance from the motel shortly after the incident occurred.

Local law enforcement has confirmed that both individuals are now facing charges related to the carjacking. The swift response by the police was instrumental in apprehending the suspects before they could flee the area.
