Two killed, four more injured, in drive-by shooting

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – A tragic drive-by shooting in Fort Lauderdale on Monday night left two people dead and several others, including a child, injured, according to police. The incident unfolded around 7:55 p.m. on the 700 block of Northwest 10th Terrace, where officers discovered six individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.

Authorities confirmed that a woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while a man succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The other victims, three adults and a child, were transported to the hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

The scene of the shooting, a convenience store located at the intersection of Northwest 10th Terrace and 8th Street, was cordoned off with yellow crime scene tape as detectives conducted their investigation. Officers were seen examining the area with flashlights, searching for clues.

A man, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed that the deceased were his daughter and nephew, and one of the survivors is his grandson. However, police have yet to confirm the identities or ages of the victims.

While the investigation is ongoing, police believe the shooting may have been an isolated drive-by incident. They are appealing to the public for any information that could aid their investigation.

“We need information to help us put the pieces together regarding this investigation,” said Casey Liening, a spokesperson for the Fort Lauderdale Police Department. “We know there were many people on scene that witnessed this. Someone may have seen the color of the vehicle, the driver, or the type of gun used. We need those people to come forward.”
