UFC Fighter has truck stolen out of airport

SAN JOSE, CA – UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier is speaking out after his pickup truck was stolen from San Jose International Airport. Cormier had traveled to Las Vegas for a UFC event and upon returning on Sunday, discovered his vehicle missing.

Cormier parked his brand-new TRX at the airport before flying out. Upon his return, he was puzzled when his car wouldn’t start. Employees at the ticket booth revealed that the vehicle had left the premises three days earlier without paying for parking.

“I’ve never had to worry about something like this,” Cormier said, expressing his frustration. “It’s disappointing that this happened at the airport, and there’s not much more information they can provide.”

The truck, which Cormier had owned for just four days, was stolen despite being parked at a supposedly secure location. San Jose International Airport has acknowledged the theft and is working closely with local police to investigate.

The San Jose Police Department is actively investigating the case and has been supportive, according to Cormier. “They’re doing their best to help me reach some sort of resolution,” he said.

In light of the theft, police recommend using GPS tracking devices and steering wheel locks as preventative measures against vehicle thefts in large public spaces like airport parking garages.

Cormier took to Instagram to raise awareness about the incident, emphasizing that while he can replace the truck, many in the Bay Area are not as fortunate. “It’s a material thing, but not everyone has the privilege to look past such a loss,” he noted.

He expressed concern for individuals who work hard to afford such vehicles only to have them stolen. “It’s not fair,” Cormier said. “Some people save their whole lives for something like that.”

Moving forward, Cormier plans to take older vehicles to the airport, stating, “I’ll probably drive my Prius next time.”
