UK Citizens Banned From Traveling to France After New COVID Strain Outbreak

(AbsoluteNews.com) – A new COVID-19 strain is currently spreading through the UK. Health officials believe the new variation of the virus is more contagious, but not more deadly. Regardless, other countries are imposing restrictions to prevent the spread.

On December 21, British Transport Secretary Grant Shapps revealed France has banned “unaccompanied freight” from the UK for 48 hours. Canada, India, El Salvador and others cut off travel from the United Kingdom completely.

Unfortunately, it may be too little, too late. Experts have discovered the new strain of the virus in Denmark, Iceland, Belgium, Italy, and other countries. The good news is they’re thinking the current vaccines will work against this variant as well. Although they don’t know much about this strain, they’re optimistic. US Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams said the vaccination program will continue to move forward without delay.
