(AbsoluteNews.com) – New York police have faced a lot of criticism for the way they’ve handled protesters across the state. In NYC, there’s an investigation into the NYPD. Across the state in Buffalo, officers aren’t having a great week either. All of the criticism is rubbing NY Police Benevolent Association President Mike O’Meara the wrong way.
On June 9, O’Meara held a press conference and slammed politicians and the media for portraying the state’s cops like “…animals and thugs.” He demanded everyone start treating officers with respect.

The union president appeared on Fox News the next day and told the hosts of “Fox & Friends” the same thing. He explained that most police are “…professional” and act “honorably.” But, the media isn’t saying that right now.
The police community is currently mourning an officer who was murdered during the riots in St. Louis. David Dorn was shot and killed while responding to a call about looters. He’s been with the police department for 38 years. Doesn’t his family deserve some sympathy and respect too?
