(AbsoluteNews.com) – It’s always horrific when someone sexually assaults another human being. It’s especially terrible when the abuser is a person in a position of power, especially one who’s representing the US abroad. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what one man just pleaded guilty to doing.
On July 23, Brian Jeffrey Raymond pleaded guilty to sexually abusing and photographing women in both the US and abroad. According to a statement by the Justice Department, the California man was most recently employed by the US government at the US Embassy in Mexico City, Mexico. On May 31, 2020, a naked woman was seen standing on a balcony screaming for help. She said she had no memory of what happened after Raymond gave her food and drinks.
An investigation into Raymond found 479 photographs of “20 unconscious and nude or partially nude women” on his electronic devices and in his iCloud. Prosecutors say the images are dated from 2006 to 2020. The former diplomat admitted to sexually assaulting at least 24 women over 14 years.

Acting US Attorney for the District of Columbia, Channing D. Phillips, said he hopes Raymond’s guilty plea brings comfort to his victims. Raymond now faces a sentence of up to life in prison, supervised release of at least 5 years, mandatory restitution and a fine of $250,000.
