This video shows the moment a Navy Jet pilot had to make a split second decision to eject right as birds impacted his aircraft.
At least one home was damaged in a Texas neighborhood when a bird crashed into a Navy jet conducting a training exercise.
During a landing at NAS Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, a U.S. Navy T-45C Goshawk jet trainer crashed, on September 21st, 2021.
As the aircraft descends, a bird flies into the jet. The pilot announces that an emergency has arisen and he’ll attempt to land.
During the incident, he says he won’t make it before crashing in Lake Worth, a few miles from the base.
A student and instructor pilot ejected before the crash, the news source reported. One had their parachute caught in power lines, while the other was found nearby.
It took a few weeks for the crash to be cleaned up, but no one was seriously injured.
