Buffalo, New York – Buffalo Bills pass rusher Von Miller has been suspended for four games due to a violation of the NFL’s personal conduct policy, as announced by the league on Tuesday. This suspension will cause Miller to miss the Bills’ upcoming games and renders him eligible for reinstatement on October 28th.
The reason behind Miller’s suspension is believed to be linked to a previous felony domestic violence incident that occurred last fall. The 35-year-old linebacker faced allegations of assaulting his then-pregnant girlfriend in Dallas, Texas, which led to his surrender to authorities on suspicion of a third-degree felony. Despite his girlfriend downplaying the incident and denying the assault, Miller found himself under investigation by both law enforcement and the NFL.
This isn’t the first time Miller has been under investigation for domestic violence, as he had a similar situation back in 2021 while playing for the Denver Broncos. However, no charges were filed against him in that instance. Currently in the third year of a lucrative six-year deal with the Bills, Miller has been a key contributor on defense with five tackles and three sacks in the first four games of the season.
Due to his suspension, Miller will be absent from the upcoming games against the Houston Texans, New York Jets, Tennessee Titans, and Seattle Seahawks. The linebacker is set to make his return to the field on November 3rd against the Miami Dolphins. His absence will undoubtedly have an impact on the Bills’ defense as they continue to strive for success this season.
