(AbsoluteNews.com) – Anyone who has ever owned a cat knows most enjoy chasing lights. Companies even make toys for the animals featuring laser lights to keep kitties occupied. However, a Wisconsin woman made a big mistake when using an unusual tool to play with her feline friend.
In August, authorities filed a criminal complaint against a 19-year-old Kenosha woman for shooting her friend while using the laser sight on a gun to play with a cat. The woman was visiting her friend’s apartment when she picked up a handgun he’d just purchased. The complaint stated she “turned on the laser sight and was pointing it at the floor to get the cat to chase it” when it went off, striking the man.
The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the thigh. Someone called the police, and when they arrived, the man was in another apartment. He went to the hospital, where doctors treated his wound.

Witnesses told the police that the woman was drinking before she picked up the weapon. She is facing charges for negligent use of a firearm. The man is also facing charges for possessing a handgun while his bond conditions prohibited it.
