**Airports**: This US airport just scored a perfect 5-star rating – find out why!

Houston, Texas, boasts one of the top airports in the United States according to Skytrax’s ratings of airports worldwide. The William P. Hobby Airport in Houston, and Terminal B at LaGuardia Airport in New York, are the only US airport properties to receive a prestigious five-star rating.

Skytrax praised Hobby Airport for its exceptional customer experience, wide range of seating options, and upgraded interior décor finishes. LaGuardia’s Terminal B was also recognized for its spacious interiors, floor-to-ceiling windows, artistic features, and iconic shops and restaurants. However, LaGuardia received an overall rating of four stars.

While Skytrax did not give any US airports a one or two-star rating, more than three dozen US airports received a “fair or average” three-star rating. This includes major hubs like Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport and Washington Reagan National Airport. Even the five busiest US airports received three stars based on various criteria such as terminal design, cleanliness, passenger flow, and amenities.

Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport, the world’s busiest airport since 1998, faced criticism from Skytrax for inefficient and insufficient staffing levels at security and immigration checkpoints. Despite this, the airport was commended for its fast-food options and helpful Information staff.

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, the second-busiest airport in 2022, was faulted for its food, shopping options, and quiet areas. However, it received praise for its efficient layouts, immigration process, and staff services.

Denver International Airport set a passenger record last year but struggled with slow TSA processing and limited access to certain concourses. On a positive note, its transportation services and unique architecture were well-received.

Chicago O’Hare International Airport was noted for its convenient connection to Chicago but criticized for its terminal interiors and seating options. Los Angeles LAX International Airport was praised for its design features but faced challenges with congestion and slow security processes.

New York John F. Kennedy International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport also received three-star ratings for their dated infrastructure and limited facilities. Overall, US airports have a mix of strengths and weaknesses, as highlighted by Skytrax’s ratings.
