Arrested Traffic Chaos: Over 50 Arrests Made in I-676 Protest – See the Shocking Details!

PHILADELPHIA, PA – A massive demonstration caused chaos on Interstate 676 in Center City, leading to over 50 arrests by authorities on Saturday. The protest, organized by the Party of Socialism and Liberation, resulted in the temporary shutdown of parts of the westbound lanes of I-676 between the New Jersey state line and the Broad Street exit.

Around 350 members of the Party of Socialism and Liberation flooded onto the highway, blocking traffic and causing a major disruption. Video footage captured the scene as protesters held signs and formed a blockade on the roadway, forcing law enforcement to intervene.

Despite the majority of demonstrators peacefully leaving the highway to march through the city, state police moved in to arrest those who remained on I-676 obstructing traffic. A total of 58 arrests were made during the incident, which lasted for about two hours before authorities were able to clear the roadway by 8 p.m.

The arrested protesters are reported to be processed at the state barracks in Belmont, as state police and Philadelphia law enforcement work together to address the situation. At least two arrests and citations were made by the Philadelphia police during the demonstration.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation. The disruptive protest underscores the ongoing tensions in the community and the challenges faced by law enforcement in maintaining public safety during such events in the city.
