Toronto, Ontario – A shooting outside Drake’s Toronto mansion early Tuesday morning left a security guard seriously injured, according to police officials.
The incident took place around 2 a.m. at a residence on Park Lane Circle, where the security guard was found outside a gate suffering from a gunshot wound, as reported by Inspector Paul Krawczyk during a news conference.
Despite the rapper not being injured in the shooting, it remains unclear if Drake was present at the time of the incident. The security guard, however, is currently hospitalized in serious condition.
Authorities stated that a suspect fled the scene in a vehicle after the shooting, with details about the number of suspects involved and the type of vehicle they were in remaining unknown. Thankfully, footage capturing the shooting is available to aid in the investigation.
Inspector Krawczyk mentioned that the motive behind the shooting is still unclear due to the early stage of the investigation, although detectives have been in contact with Drake’s team for further assistance.
