Asheville, North Carolina – In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, communities in Western North Carolina are rallying together to support recovery efforts and assist those affected by the storm. Organizations and local government agencies are coming together to provide aid and resources to residents in need.

Sinclair Broadcasting Group has teamed up with The Salvation Army for the Sinclair Cares: Hurricane Helene Relief initiative. Contributions made through Sinclair Cares will go towards providing meals, clean water, and essential assistance to residents and first responders affected by the hurricane. Sinclair will also match donations up to $50,000 raised through their website.

Various agencies in Buncombe County are also actively seeking donations and volunteers to help with recovery efforts. The County Government is asking for donations, equipment, and volunteers to support those impacted by the hurricane. Local nonprofits like The Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministries (ABCCM) and MANNA FoodBank are accepting financial contributions and essential supplies to distribute to those in need.

In Haywood County, the Sheriff’s Office has set up donation drop-off locations and is coordinating relief efforts with community partners. The United Way of Haywood County is accepting monetary donations to support recovery efforts, while volunteers are encouraged to lend a helping hand at designated distribution centers.

Henderson County has established a donation drop-off site for non-perishable food items and essential supplies to assist with recovery efforts. The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office is also monitoring a Wellness Check Status Map to locate missing individuals and ensure their safety following the hurricane.

McDowell County and Polk County are also actively seeking volunteers and donations to aid in recovery efforts. From volunteering opportunities to donation drop-off points, community members are coming together to support one another during this challenging time.

Transylvania County Sheriff’s Office is working with Anchor Baptist to coordinate volunteer efforts and provide support to those in need. Donations and volunteer availability can be directed to Anchor Baptist as they work to distribute essential resources to the community.
