Los Angeles, California — After a challenging three-year fight with health issues, reality star Brandi Glanville has disclosed the underlying cause of her perplexing condition: ruptured breast implants. The former cast member of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills initially suspected a facial parasite to be responsible for her symptoms, which first appeared while filming a special in Morocco in early 2023.
In a recent development, an emergency sonogram unveiled that the implants, which had been in place for almost two decades, had developed significant issues. Glanville shared that a technician informed her of a slow leak in her left implant and a complete rupture in her right one, resulting in silicone accumulation in her lymph nodes. "The technician said it was imperative to remove them immediately," Glanville recounted.
While Glanville’s health complications became increasingly visible, her condition was exacerbated by the silicone obstruction, which hindered the body’s ability to clear other issues, including the suspected parasite. “Whatever’s happening in your face cannot drain because your lymph nodes are clogged with silicone,” she recalled the technician explaining.
Over the course of her ordeal, Glanville consulted 21 different doctors, seeking answers for her declining health. “I was shocked to discover the implants were the source of my problems, especially since they felt and looked fine,” she stated. She further learned from medical professionals that breast implants should ideally be replaced every decade—a fact she hadn’t considered before.
Glanville expressed her fears regarding the potential severity of her condition. “It’s terrifying to think I could have died if I hadn’t figured this out," she said. Following the diagnosis, she underwent an emergency procedure to remove the ruptured implants, adamantly deciding against having new silicone implants put back in. “I no longer want anything like that in my body,” she affirmed.
Reflecting on her tumultuous journey, Glanville tried to find humor in her misfortune. “Sometimes it feels like I aged 20 years overnight,” she joked during an interview, showcasing her resilient spirit.
In recent months, she has provided her fans with updates about her health and recovery. Shortly after the revelation about her implants, Glanville shared a video of herself undergoing an innovative therapy in an effort to rid her body of the parasite. “I will shake for the rest of my life if this thing doesn’t leave my body,” she declared at the time.
