Shooting in Washington, DC Leaves Two Dead and Five Injured: Police Offer $50,000 Reward

Washington, DC – Two individuals lost their lives, and five others sustained injuries in a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in Washington, DC, near the intersection of 7th and P Street Northwest.

The Metropolitan Police Department reported that the shooting took place around 3 a.m. close to the Kennedy Recreation Center. The deceased victims were identified as 32-year-old Anthony Brown from Washington, DC, and 32-year-old Jay Lucks from Baltimore.

Following the incident, the injured victims, all adults, were transported to local hospitals, according to Metropolitan Police Executive Assistant Chief Jeffrey Carroll. Although their conditions remain unknown at this time.

Law enforcement officials have not made any arrests nor named any suspects in connection with the shooting. The motive behind the attack is currently under investigation, and it is believed that one or more suspects deliberately discharged a firearm toward the victims.

In response to the violence, the Metropolitan Police Department has announced a $50,000 reward for anyone who can provide information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case. Chief Carroll urged individuals with relevant information or those who may have witnessed the incident to come forward and cooperate with the investigation.

The shooting, which occurred approximately twelve blocks northeast of the White House, has left the community on edge as authorities work to gather more details surrounding the tragic event. Investigators are appealing to the public for assistance in bringing justice to the victims and their families.
