Sonic: Kirsten Bell to Bring Pink Hedgehog Amy Rose to Life in Exciting New Film!

Los Angeles, California — Paramount Pictures has officially cast Kirsten Bell to voice the character of Amy Rose in the upcoming film “Sonic the Hedgehog 4.” This latest installment continues the studio’s successful adaptation of the beloved Sega video game franchise.

With each new addition, the franchise has attracted prominent actors to its voice cast. Bell joins a talented group that includes Ben Schwartz as Sonic, Idris Elba as Knuckles, and Keanu Reeves as Shadow, who was introduced in the previous film. The inclusion of these big names contributes to the franchise’s growing appeal.

The live-action elements of the series feature well-known actors such as Jim Carrey portraying the nefarious Dr. Robotnik, and Lee Majdoub as his loyal assistant Agent Stone. James Marsden and Tika Sumpter return as Sonic’s parental figures, with most of the original cast expected to reprise their roles for the new film.

Returning to direct “Sonic the Hedgehog 4” is Jeff Fowler, who helmed the previous three films. The production team also welcomes back Neal H. Moritz and Toby Ascher from Original Films, along with Toru Nakahara as producers.

Set for a release on March 19, 2027, “Sonic the Hedgehog 4” has been positioned as a key title in Paramount’s film lineup, following the franchise’s three films that collectively grossed over $1 billion worldwide. The most recent installment has emerged as the highest grossing film in the series, bringing in over $490 million at the global box office.

While details about the plot remain under wraps, fans are eagerly anticipating what new adventures await Sonic and his friends. Amy Rose, a pink hedgehog who is romantically interested in Sonic, will likely add a fresh dynamic to the story.

Sneak peeks at upcoming characters have become a tradition in the series, with mid-credits scenes teasing future plot lines. In the latest film, viewers saw Sonic being pursued by a swarm of Metal Sonics before being rescued by Amy Rose, hinting at her expanded role in the next movie.

Following the announcement of her casting, Schwartz shared a photo on Instagram featuring himself alongside Bell, showcasing their excitement for the project.

Bell, best known for voicing Anna in Disney’s “Frozen” films, has a robust career in voice acting, and her work in the franchise adds to her impressive résumé. She will also reprise her role in the third season of her Netflix comedy series, “Nobody Wants This,” and is set to appear as Mrs. Claus in the upcoming Christmas action-comedy “Violent Night 2,” alongside David Harbour.

As she prepares for her role in “Sonic the Hedgehog 4,” Bell is also scheduled to host SAG-AFTRA’s Actors Awards on March 1. Represented by CAA and Schreck Rose, her involvement in multiple high-profile projects illustrates her continued success in Hollywood.
