SAN ANTONIO, TX – The 2024 TYR Pro Swim Series reached its third day of competition, featuring exciting events such as the 200 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 400 IM, and 100 butterfly. Among the top contenders in the women’s 200 free event are Siobhan Haughey, Katie Ledecky, Simone Manuel, Anna Peplowski, Paige Madden, and Erin Gemmell. On the men’s side, Luke Hobson leads the pack in the 200 free, with strong competition from Drew Kibler, Kieran Smith, Guilherme Costa, Carson Foster, and Luca Urlando.
The 200 backstroke event showcases past World Champions Regan Smith and Hubert Kos, both demonstrating their prowess in the water. Smith, in particular, has been setting records and delivering exceptional performances throughout the competition. The women’s 100 fly event sees American record holder Torri Huske leading the pack, with notable swimmers like Gretchen Walsh and Claire Curzan nipping at her heels.
In the men’s 100 fly, world record holder Caeleb Dressel faces stiff competition from Pro Swim Series record holder Shaine Casas. The 400 IM events feature standout swimmers Anastasia Gorbenko and Leon Marchand leading the way in their respective categories.
In the preliminary rounds, swimmers like Katie Ledecky, Anna Peplowski, Siobhan Haughey, and Erin Gemmell showcased their talent in the women’s 200 freestyle, while Nico Garcia and Jack Aikins impressed in the men’s 200 backstroke. Phoebe Bacon and Rhyan White delivered strong performances in the women’s 200 backstroke, with Nico Garcia leading the men’s field in the 200 backstroke prelims.
