However, a fortunate player in Riverside County managed to match five out of the six numbers, securing a win of over $2 million.
The winning numbers for the Mega Millions draw were 2, 49, 50, 61, 70, and 14. This specific jackpot had been steadily growing since two winning tickets were sold in California back in early December of the previous year. The recent draw marked the 24th in the ongoing jackpot streak.
The ticket worth $2.1 million was bought at Stater Bros on Ramon Rd. in Cathedral City, as confirmed by the California Lottery. Additionally, four other tickets in California matched four numbers and are each valued at $11,687.
Since its launch in May 2022, the Mega Millions game has seen 21 jackpots won during March, including two exceeding $500 million. The largest Mega Millions jackpot ever won was in Florida last August, with a lucky individual taking home a staggering $1.602 billion.
After no jackpot winners in the Tuesday draw, the stakes roll over to an estimated $687 million for the upcoming Mega Millions draw on Friday, with a cash option of $332.3 million. The excitement continues to build as players try their luck for a chance at the massive jackpot prize.
