Los Angeles, CA – Sean “Diddy” Combs, the music mogul, is facing backlash after a video surfaced showing him allegedly abusing his then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. Combs’ inner circle claims that the video does not show the full story, suggesting that there was an agenda behind its release. The disturbing footage, released by CNN, captured Combs assaulting Cassie in a hotel in Los Angeles back in March 2016.
In the video, Combs can be seen chasing Cassie through the hotel hallway and attacking her as she tries to leave. He grabs her by the neck, throws her to the ground, kicks her, and drags her by her sweatshirt. The incident culminates with Combs throwing a glass vase at Cassie while she is cornered in the hallway.
Following the release of the video, Combs issued a public apology, acknowledging his actions as “inexcusable” and expressing disgust with himself. Cassie, on the other hand, thanked her supporters as she continues to heal from the trauma.
This incident comes on the heels of previous legal troubles for Combs, including raids on his properties by Homeland Security in connection to a sex trafficking investigation. Cassie had previously filed a lawsuit against Combs in 2023, accusing him of rape and abuse. The two parties settled the lawsuit the following day, with Combs denying the allegations.
In addition to the abuse video, Combs is facing six additional lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct and other illegal activities. Most recently, he was accused of drugging and raping a former student at New York City’s Fashion Institute of Technology in the 90s. Combs has denied many of the allegations brought against him.
