Accident on Set: Amazon Studios Responds to Crew Injuries During Filming of “The Pickup”

Atlanta, Georgia – An accident on the set of the film “The Pickup” in Georgia has left several crew members injured, prompting an inquiry by the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees.

Amazon MGM Studios confirmed that the accident occurred during a scene that had been rehearsed, and all safety precautions were taken. The incident took place while a second unit, which typically handles less central scenes, was shooting. The main stars of the film, including Murphy, Palmer, and Davidson, were not present during the accident.

While details on the injuries sustained by the crew members were not provided, it was revealed that the injuries ranged from bumps and bruises to broken bones. Two crew members were taken to the hospital, with one remaining hospitalized as of Tuesday. Fortunately, all are expected to make a full recovery.

The accident occurred when a truck malfunctioned and collided with a car on location outside of Atlanta. Despite the unexpected nature of the incident, the production of “The Pickup,” directed by Tim Story, is not expected to be delayed.

The studio’s statement emphasized that the safety and well-being of the entire cast and crew are their top priorities. All safety measures were thoroughly reviewed prior to and during the shoot.

As the investigation into the accident begins, the union representing most film crew members in the US, the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, is working to gather more information. With the production ongoing since February in and around Atlanta, “The Pickup” does not have a set release date yet.
