The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on Saturday at West Pico Boulevard and South Hope Street, where three men were attempting to steal a catalytic converter from a vehicle. Wactor, 37, encountered them while leaving work at a rooftop bar with a coworker, noticing someone near his car.
