Adrian Newey to Depart Red Bull in 2025! What’s Next for the F1 Design Legend?

Milton Keynes, England – After nearly two decades as the chief technical officer of Red Bull Racing, Adrian Newey is set to depart the team in early 2025. Throughout his tenure since 2006, Newey has been instrumental in securing seven drivers’ championships and six constructors’ titles for the team.

Despite his significant contributions to the team’s success, reports suggest a strained relationship between Newey and team principal Christian Horner could be a factor in his departure. Newey, who has not been actively involved in the Formula 1 project for several seasons, will continue to provide trackside support at select races until the end of this year. In addition, he will focus on finalizing the development and delivery of Red Bull’s first road-going hypercar, the RB17.

Originally contracted with Red Bull until the end of the 2025 season, Newey has reached an agreement with the team to leave in the first quarter of next year. This move comes as technical director Pierre Wache recently signed a multi-year contract extension in February, ensuring continuity in the team’s technical structure moving forward.

In a statement addressing his departure, Newey expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to Red Bull Racing’s transformation from a newcomer to a championship contender over the past 18 years. He emphasized the importance of passing the baton to new leadership while overseeing the final development stages of the RB17.

Although Newey alluded to seeking new challenges, he has not announced his next career move. Speculations have linked him to several top-tier racing teams, including Ferrari, Aston Martin, McLaren, and Mercedes.

As Newey prepares to exit his role at Red Bull Racing, fans and industry insiders alike are eager to see where his expertise and innovative spirit will take him next in the dynamic world of Formula 1.
