Adventure Time Movie and Series Announcement: Warner Bros. Animation Studios Reveals Exciting Details About New Projects

Annecy, France – In an exciting development, Cartoon Network Studios (CNS) has recently announced three new “Adventure Time” projects at the Annecy Animation Festival. Among these projects is a movie and two new series that are currently in the works.

Although details are still scarce regarding the “Adventure Time” movie, it is known that the project will feature a lineup of animation superstars, including Rebecca Sugar, the creator of “Steven Universe,” Patrick McHale, co-creator of “Over the Garden Wall,” and Adam Muto, the showrunner of “Adventure Time.” All three are seasoned veterans of the “Adventure Time” series.

One of the new series, “Adventure Time: Side Quests,” has already been greenlit by CNS. This kids’ series will take viewers back in time to when Finn was a young boy dreaming of embarking on epic quests and battling monsters alongside his loyal companion, Jake the Dog.

Unlike its predecessors, “Adventure Time: Side Quests” will focus on standalone episodes rather than a continuous narrative across seasons. The series will feature early versions of well-known characters, such as The Ice King, in various adventures. Nate Cash, a two-time Emmy winner and longtime artist of “Adventure Time,” is attached to the project.

In addition to “Side Quests,” CNS is also working on “Adventure Time: Heyo BMO,” a preschool series centered around the beloved video game console, BMO. The show will follow BMO and a group of new friends as they navigate challenges suitable for younger audiences. Adam Muto, a two-time Emmy winner and writer for “Adventure Time,” along with storyboard artist Ashlyn Anstee, are involved in the development of this project.

Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav has emphasized the importance of leveraging popular IPs within the company’s animation labels. By revisiting the enchanting Land of Ooo with more “Adventure Time” films and series, Warner Bros. aims to capitalize on the success and enduring appeal of the beloved franchise.
