Amy Grant Opens Up About the Unexpected Face-Lift Surgery After Terrifying Bike Accident

NASHVILLE, TN – Singer Amy Grant is speaking out about the aftermath of her 2022 bike accident that left her with a brain injury. In a recent interview with E! News, she revealed that she woke up to a surprise face-lift after a five-hour surgery following the crash. Grant explained that the surgeons asked if she wanted a face-lift while they were operating on her throat, to which she replied, “Dear God, no, I actually have to be on stage in X number of weeks.” Despite not asking for it, she came out of surgery with a tighter neck.

The “Breath of Heaven” singer also shared that she felt like an “old beat-up car that went in and got a paint job and had the dents knocked out” after all the work. The accident revealed a cyst growing in her throat, which led to a five-hour surgery to remove it. However, the surgery has left her with short-term memory issues and she had to reteach herself to sing.

While Grant is back on tour, she admitted that the accident has left her with balance issues and struggles with short-term memory. She expressed uncertainty about getting back on a bike after hitting a pothole and being knocked unconscious in the 2022 crash. Despite these challenges, Grant is grateful for the love and support from her fans as she continues her tour, stating, “I don’t get on stage because I need to hear applause, I have always loved creating spaces, and I do think it feels like that continues to matter.”
