Miami, Florida – A former Syracuse University men’s basketball player, Brendan Paul, was arrested at Opa Locka Airport in Miami this week, accused of being involved in illegal activities linked to music producer Rodney Jones and rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs. Federal agents conducted a raid at Combs’s LA mansion on the same day as Paul’s arrest, highlighting the interconnected allegations surrounding the former basketball player.
According to a lawsuit filed by Jones, Paul was allegedly serving as a “drug mule” for Combs, involved in the transportation and distribution of illegal drugs across various locations. The lawsuit claims that Paul was witnessed carrying contraband, including cocaine, on flights between LA, Miami, Virginia, the Caribbean, and London on multiple occasions.
Despite the accusations, Paul has remained silent, neither personally addressing the claims nor through legal representation. He was booked for possession of cocaine and controlled substances, posting bail and being released, with a court hearing scheduled for April 24th in Miami-Dade County.
Notably, Paul, originally from Chagrin Falls, Ohio, had a previous career in college basketball, playing for Syracuse before transferring to Fairmont State. After his playing career ended, he ventured into music production, reportedly working with Combs on projects like “The Love Album.”
