Arrested: Student Planned Ontario High School Shooting with Cache of Firearms and Ammunition

ONTARIO, Calif. – An 18-year-old student from Ontario Christian High School has been arrested on attempted murder charges after authorities discovered his plans to carry out a shooting at the school. Sebastian Villasenor was taken into custody after a fellow student alerted school officials about his fixation on school shootings and access to weapons, according to Ontario Police Chief Michael Lorenz.

During a news conference, Chief Lorenz stated that the school principal notified the police after the concerned student came forward. The investigation revealed Villasenor’s obsession with school shootings and police response times, as well as his extensive research on tactical supplies. Police also found that he was in the process of choosing a specific date to carry out the shooting.

At the time of Villasenor’s arrest, authorities found seven rifles, two revolvers, one handgun, and one shotgun in his home, along with over 1,000 rounds of ammunition. While the suspect’s parents legally owned the weapons, police revealed that Villasenor had specific students he wanted to target.

Villasenor is facing five felony charges of attempted murder and one felony charge of attempted criminal threats, as confirmed by the district attorney’s office. Police emphasized the importance of the student who came forward, applauding their bravery and acknowledging them as a hero for potentially preventing a devastating act of violence.

Authorities also highlighted that there is no additional threat to students or staff at this time, providing reassurance to the school community. The incident serves as a reminder of the critical role that vigilant individuals play in preventing potential tragedies, and the significance of timely reporting in maximizing safety for all.
