Man murders his ex-girlfriend’s mom

PALM HARBOR, FL – A suspected murder-suicide took place in Palm Harbor, Florida. The fatal incident left two people dead on Tuesday morning. Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating their deaths.

Just before 8:30 a.m., deputies were called to a residence on Moreno Drive’s 4100 block after a 911 call reported a man and woman, both victims of gunshot wounds. When first responders finally arrived at the scene, the deputies discovered a deceased woman. Stacey McLean, age 52, was found dead in one of the bedrooms of the home. In another room, the police found Darryl Seeraj, 26. The man was also deceased, although it was evident that he died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot.

According to detectives, Seeraj had previously been involved in a romantic relationship with McLean’s daughter for around five years before it ended recently.

The preliminary findings of the investigation led authorities to believe that Seeraj “broke into the home, murdered McLean, and then took his own life,” as stated in the news release from the sheriff’s office.

The Medical Examiner’s Office will perform autopsies on both individuals to officially determine the cause and manner of their deaths. For now, no additional information concerning the case has been released to the public.
