Detroit, Michigan – Audi unveiled its latest all-electric Q6 e-tron SUV on Monday, marking a significant leap forward in the company’s electric vehicle technology. The new SUV is the first production vehicle built on Audi’s innovative “Premium Platform Electric,” designed to enhance the vehicle’s technology capabilities and performance.
This new generation of EVs for Audi comes at a time when the market for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles is expanding, despite recent slowdowns in growth. Audi has plans to introduce around 20 new or redesigned models globally by 2025, with more than half of them being electric.
The Audi Q6 e-tron quattro, along with a performance variant known as the “S,” will be available for order in Europe starting this month. The base model is priced at 74,400 euros, approximately $81,000, while the performance variant starts at 93,800 euros, around $102,030. With an estimated range of 625 kilometers on a single charge, or 388 miles, the Q6 e-tron promises impressive performance capabilities.
For customers in the U.S., top performance specifications include up to 510 horsepower, a maximum speed of 143 miles per hour, and acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds. Exact pricing and details for the U.S. market are expected to be announced closer to the SUV’s domestic launch later this year.
Audi’s lineup in the U.S. already includes the all-electric Q4 and Q8 SUVs, as well as the GT sedan priced at $106,500. The Q6 e-tron boasts a sleek design featuring distinctive headlamps, a mesh-style grille, and an overall aggressive exterior look. The new EV platform incorporates an 800-volt battery system with a maximum charging capacity of 270 kilowatt hours.
